My son got this game and I was expecting to have to buy a separate smaller memory stick just for this game to save on, however we were both pleasantly surprised that it saved just fine on his 4gb memory stick. His MS card is pretty full (less than 1gb free space) so possibly it works fine as long as the available space is less than 1gb or they have patched this game when they released as part of the greatest hits collection. Some of you who have problems getting it to save on large memory sticks might try putting some music or movies on the card to decrease the free space on it and see if then it will save. Aside from that, he loves this game as much as he loves the PS2 version and the pc version and the ds version - he loves this crazy game so much he has to have it for each and every gaming system he owns :)
The software obviously either has a memory addressing limitation or it doesn't correctly handle the free memory information from the PSP's operating system. I installed a 4GB memory card and let my kids have a ball with the Original Trilogy game. In short: game is fun to play but it seems like the software behind it is seriously outdated.I just recently bought the PSP console and the SW II Original Trilogy game from Amazon. And sure enough the requirement on the game's case mentions only a 128KB Memory Stick DUO. After a couple of days they kept complaining that they were unable to save the game's state/scores to the memory card. Sure enough after tinkering around we concluded that the software expects a memory stick with a much smaller capacity. This limitation is completely unacceptable at a time and age when a 128KB can be more expensive to acquire than a 8GB. Don't buy this game unless you want to be forced to also purchase a 128MB memory stick card.
This game is perfect to play on the go. If you have this game on the Game Cube you will notice that there the same, except the psp doesent have people in the cantina. You also notice that sometimes when your a jedi, it'll be kind of hard to slash people with you litesabor, you well be able to costamize your character. It took me about 6 hours to complete but if don't focus on the studs, minikits and power bricks then you could finish the game in 3 hours.
My Lego Star Wars game will not save to my Sony 4GB memory stick. It says my stick is too full to save. I also have God Of War II gamesavessaved on the stick. I only have a few games saved fromother games on the stick so it is barely used. My copy of Lego IndianaJones and Lego Batman both work fine. Why does the Star Wars game say the stick is too fullwhen it is almost empty.Response from Lucas Arts:In response to your question about LEGO Star Wars II: The Original TrilogyDate: Mon, 2 Feb 2009 15:19:29 -0500Hello,The game only supports 32MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB memory sticks which have all proven to save in-game data correctly.Best Regards,Tom V. at LucasArts Technical Support
The different levels keep him interested and he looks forward to what is next. I bought this game for my son's 7th Birthday and it was a slam dunk. The only down side is that I have to force him to turn it off. We are huge Star Wars Fans. all the characters are in the game. I am very happy that I got this game for him. It is a must.
